If your organisation or agency works directly with children and families, the Dads Included Test can help you assess how father-inclusive your services are, and identify the changes you can make to provide the best possible services for children’s wellbeing and safety.
The first step is to register to use Dads Included. All you need is your name, your email address, and a password – but you can also fill in as much as you like of your profile, and this will let other members of the site recognise you.
Next, you need to start a group for your agency or organisation. Just go to Community, click the Groups tab then click on Create group. We’ve made the process as easy as we can, with dropdown menus for you to tell us what you are and where you are, so that related groups can find each other. Choose Agency group, and your group will be private.
Once you’ve started the group, you’re the group owner: you can invite other Dads Included members to join the group, and email your work colleagues to invite them to come to Dads Included. On your group page, you’ll see a tab that says Start the Dads Included Test. Click on that to get started!
Guidelines
The Dads Included Test is a self-assessment tool and you’ll need to make sure that everything you report on is an accurate assessment of your current strategies and service. Your results are kept private between you and the Fatherhood Institute; your group profile will show how many questions you’ve completed. You’ll need to repeat the Dads Included Test annually to review and improve how far your agency is fulfilling the commitments.
Sharing
This site is designed to let you share your successes and your failures with other agencies. When you’ve thought of a brilliant solution for a tricky problem, go to the Forum and share it with other practitioners. And if you’ve found there’s one area of the Test where you just can’t work out what to do, Dads Included is the place to ask for help from other professionals.
